STRATHMORE UNIVERSITY, SU UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION REQUIREMENT - KENYA
Entry Requirements for Undergraduate Degree Courses
FACULTY OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Applicants must meet the following requirement:
- KCSE Mean grade of C+
- 6 Credits at O level, A level 2 principal passes, and 1 subsidiary
- IB minimum 24 out of 45.
- A distinction in the Strathmore Entrance Exam.
- Proven leadership skills in school & community and outstanding performance in extra-curricular activities are an added advantage.
INSTITUTE OF MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES
- A minimum mean grade of B-.
- 6 credits at O-level, A level 3 principal passes
- IB Diploma 34 points out of 45
- A distinction in the Strathmore Entrance Exam.
- Proven leadership skills in school & community and outstanding performance in extra-curricular activities are an added advantage.
SCHOOL OF ACCOUNTANCY
- C+ overall, C+ Mathematics & English (2013 KCSE students can use their MOCK results)
- A Level & IGCSE 6 Bs and above or IB 24 pts 5 in English and 4 in Mathematics
SCHOOL OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES
- KCSE (or equivalent examination) with a minimum aggregate of C+.
- Entrance Examination
- Applicants will be required to attend and pass an appropriate entrance examination which will include a Mathematics and English exam as well as an oral interview.
SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT AND COMMERCE
- Aggregate C+ with a minimum of C in Mathematics and English OR
- Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE) qualification with a minimum of two subsidiary passes and a credit pass in Mathematics and English at KCE OR
- IGCSE six A’s including Mathematics and English and GCE three A’s and one B in form 5 & 6 OR
- IB grade 5 and above in English and a grade 4 and above in Mathematics
SCHOOL OF LAW
- KCSE minimum mean aggregate of B-
- GCE A – Level minimum grades ABB with A in English Language or English Literature.
- IB minimum 34 overall points with grade 5 and above in English.
- Proof of above mentioned qualifications and grades should be sent in the form of scanned copies of the KCSE or KACE certificates.
SCHOOL OF TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY
Applicants must meet the following requirement:
- A minimum mean grade of C+ in KCSE OR
- Six subjects with a grade B and above including Mathematics and English at IGCSE level or three subjects with grade B and above at GCE level.
- All candidates meeting the entry requirement shall be required to sit and pass the University entrance examination in English and Mathematics and an oral interview.
- Candidates applying for exemption shall be required to sit for a qualifying exam in hospitality and tourism.
STRATHMORE UNIVERSITY, SU POSTGRADUATE ADMISSION REQUIREMENT
Entry requirements for a Postgraduate degree Programme
A Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an accredited University in a subject or subjects relevant to the course applied for.
Duration of Programme: 1 Academic Year
Entry requirements for a Masters degree Programme
A Bachelors’ degree or postgraduate diploma from an accredited University in a subject or subjects relevant to the course applied for.
Duration of Programme: 2 Academic Years
Entry requirements for a DBA or PhD degree programme
Applicants must be holders of Master’s degree or any other related programs from a recognized University. Practitioner Experience: Applicants must have management experience of at least three years pre – or – post Masters.
