IEK registration application - requirements and procedure

IEK registration application

The institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK) is a learned society for engineers. In the past, the IEK registration process was very complicated as it involved a lot of paperwork and navigation through some difficult systems. The IEK has been undertaking an internal review of its registration systems. It has put into place a number of changes that should simplify the registration process. This minimizes the paperwork requirements by service providers and registered managers.

Established in 1945 as a professional body, the IEK, formerly the East African Association of Engineers had its membership spread in the original East Africa countries i.e. Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. In the early 1970s, most of the professional bodies including the East Africa Association of Engineers split up. The IEK was formed after the split and it was registered as an independent and professional body.
