Most of you have written enquiring if we can give you a tip of application letters in your specific fields. Just as a point of information, the general format that we gave a while ago does not change with your qualifications but changes with the level of the career ladder you are on.Anyway, I just want to take you through samples that you can use as a guiding tool when drafting your job-winning cover letters. The general guidelines for a good cover letter are:
1. Let the font of the cover letter be the same as that in the CV.
2. It should be as short as possible unless you are applying for a very senior position.
3. It should have your full name, contacts, and date at the beginning.
4. Followed by the addressee’s full details.
5. Salutation to the receiver e.g Dear Sir, Dear Madam, etc
6. The main subject or reference. If sending by email, this should be the subject of the email. This must be in bold and underlined.
7. Introduction and declaration of interest for any available position or an advertised one.
8. A full paragraph showing your qualifications and how they match to the job description.
9. A concluding paragraph showing gratitude if given the opportunity to come to the interview.

11. Your signature in black pen
12. Your full name in bold
13. The general outlook should be as simple as possible, short and brief
