  1. Display Ads — These are designed to work anywhere in your website. When you choose this option, remember to turn responsive ads on, responsive ads automatically adapt their size to fit your page layout and your users’ devices (smartphone or tablet).
  2. In-feed Ads — These apply to eCommerce stores, listings, and posts in your website. They are customizable to match the look of your site
  3. In-article Ads — For content pages and articles, these work well as they fit in between your articles feed.
  4. Multiplex ads — These are Grid-based ad units that show content recommendation-style native ads. They mostly appear at the bottom of most monetized sites but you can also decide to place them at the top.

Step 5: Optimize your Google AdSense earnings

Did you know that you can simply setup your Google AdSense and earn passive income without making any adjustments for a long time? Well, now you know.

But what if you want to increase your revenue and make more money from anywhere around the World with your website or YouTube content? For that you will have to take time to monitor, analyze, and optimize your Google AdSense accordingly. Tools like Google Analytics will help you out.

Tips on How you can Optimize your Google AdSense earnings:

  • Place ads in high-traffic areas of your website or YouTube channel. The more traffic you have, the more views on your content and more money you will earn.
  • Use different ad sizes and formats (Display, In-feed, In-article ads).
  • Use AutoAds to Make the most of your ad space with smart ad sizing that adapts to your users’ screens and device orientation.
  • Target your ads to your audience (Relevant traffic means more CTR).
  • Use Google Trends to look for trending topics and newsworthy content ideas to write evergreen content to send constant AdSense site traffic.
  • Use Google Tag Manger and Google Analytics to measure your advertising ROI as well as track your website performance, YouTube video engagement, and social networking sites and applications. (Use your Reports dashboard in Google Analytics or YouTube Studio).

Follow Google AdSense Policies

Google has introduced strict program policies to discourage Google Adsense invalid traffic and deceptive practices that can boost your earnings. They include things like:

  • Clicking on your own ads
  • Incentivizing or paying others to click on ads
  • Redirecting users to unwanted websites
  • Buying traffic or clicks among others.

Not to worry about some of these like Ad relevance, because all Ads are screened by Google to ensure they are high quality and relevant to your content or audience.

Step 6: Send AdSense Site Traffic to your Website or YouTube Channel

This is one of the most important steps, it’s this step that determines whether you actually earn money from your content or not. You need to get huge amounts of traffic to be able to earn from your Website or YouTube Videos. AdSense publishers are ultimately responsible for the traffic to their ads.

As an AdSense publisher, You’re welcome to promote your site in any manner including partnering with other websites to increase your traffic, just make sure whatever you do complies with the program policies.

Luckily for you, there are many ways to send traffic to your website, the most common one being Social Media Marketing, you can start by posting useful and valuable content more than once a day on TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, YouTube, consistently for 6 months straight and you will see magic.

Another way to send huge amounts of traffic to your website is to use SEO (Search Engine Optimization). This one requires a lot of hard work in keyword research and more patience waiting for your content to rank high.

Step 7: Get paid for Your Earnings

Once you have earned enough money (at least $100) with Google AdSense, you can get paid and your money sent to your selected bank account via Wire Transfer or any other payment method available in your region or country.

Google AdSense pays out earnings on a monthly basis. The minimum payout amount (also known as the Payment threshold) is $100.

To get paid, you will need to provide Google with your bank information. You enter this information in your “Payments” Tab on the left of your Google AdSense dashboard, under “Payments Info”.

If you haven’t verified your Address, go to “Verification Check” still under “Payments” tab, and Confirm your personal information like Your phone number and the mailing address associated with your bank account to get your Google AdSense account ready to receive payments.

Let’s talk about Address Verification briefly.

This is very crucial. You can’t get verified without this. And you won’t get verified if you put in the wrong mailing address. The mailing address is what Google uses to deliver to you the Pin Code for address verification.

Which Bank is Best for AdSense Payments?

In Kenya, the best option I would recommend is Standard Chartered Bank as they deliver a Free Debit card to new users, It is what I use personally and my first AdSense Check was processed smoothly without my intervention.

In Africa, You can also try Absa Bank, UBA (United Bank for Africa), DFCU Bank, Stanbic Bank, among others. There is no straight anwer to the question which bank is best for Adsense payments, it all depends on choice and location of the Adsense publisher.

If you are using Google AdSense from another country outside Africa whether in the USA, UAE, UK or Europe, it means you probably have other Banks at your disposal to use for AdSense payments.

  • Sidebar — This is the sidebar of your website, where the ads will be displayed on the right or left side of the content.

  • Image ads — These ads display an image and a link to the advertiser’s website.
