THE COST OF BRACES IN KENYA

Prices for teeth braces in Kenya cost as low as Ksh 35,000 and as high as Ksh 350,000. There are different types of dental braces and their prices are different depending on quality.

Types Of Dental Braces

1.Traditional metal wired braces – They are stainless – steel and are sometimes used in combination with titanium. Traditional metal braces are the most common type of braces. These braces have a metal bracket with elastic (rubber band) ties holding the wire onto the metal brackets.

2. Self-ligating braces – They are very similar in appearance to traditional metal braces, but utilize clips rather than elastic bands to hold the wire of the brace in place. As a result, there is less friction on the braces and it is usually easier for the individual to keep the braces and teeth clean.
3. Gold- plated stainless steel braces – They are often used for patients allergic to nickel (a basic and important component of stainless steel), but may also be chosen because some people simply prefer the look of gold over the traditional silver-colored braces.
4. Lingual braces – They are a cosmetic alternative in which custom-made braces are bonded to the back of the teeth making them externally invisible. This type has the obvious advantage of not being visible to other people because they are hidden behind the teeth.
5. Invisalign – They are the most distinct type of braces because they do not involve brackets and wires but instead utilize a series of custom-made clear plastic aligners that are worn over the teeth. This type of braces is preferable for many patients because they are almost invisible and allow greater freedom to eat and drink anything.
6. Titanium braces – They resemble stainless-steel braces but are lighter and just as strong. People with allergies to the nickel in steel often choose titanium braces, but they are more expensive than stainless steel braces.
7. Progressive clear removable aligners – They may be used to gradually move teeth into their final positions. Aligners are generally not used for complex orthodontic cases, such as when extractions, jaw surgery, or palate expansion are necessary.
